Welcome to Dave Leach's new home on the web!
This site is the product of an experiment. The first change I ever made to Wikipedia happened on New Year's Eve of 2004. I modified the article on “The Amazing Race” to explain an interesting quirk in the production of an episode in Vietnam (a fact that, I'm happy to say, is still in the article five years later, though it's been relegated to a footnote).
Despite Wikipedia's shortcomings, one thing I've always liked about it is how easy the website is to update. It uses a simple and easy to learn markup system, an editor embedded within the site itself, keeps a history of changes and makes the task of changing a webpage quick and easy. It then occurred to me a few years ago: is there a way to use wiki software to maintain a regular website? Can you hide all the editing controls from normal viewers, giving the appearance of a non-collaborative website, and take advantage of a wiki's ease of use?
It took some searching and a lot of trial and error, but this site is the result of that idea.
